Munchkin History:
The Munchkin Cat is considered a relatively new breed. Originating in Louisiana in the United States. The Munchkin as we know it today was first spotted in a litter of
kittens in 1983 from a stray cat called Blackberry, which was rescued by a music teacher. Even back in 1953 in Stalingrad, a short-legged cat was seen standing on its hind legs.
The German author who witnessed the incident called it the Stalingrad Kangaroo Cat. Other sightings of short legged cats, as far back as the 1940’s.
